Over 95% of SRG's coal is used for the generation
of electricity.
The annual demand for electricity in the UK is expected to consolidate and increase on the 2010 demand level with coal playing a major role in generating the country's electricity supply. Coal-fired power stations provide a reliable and consistent energy source these power stations often produce as much as 50% of UK electricity in winter months.
We are suppliers to all the main UK coal power generators, playing an essential role in keeping our industries and vital public services running.
In addition to supplying UK energy suppliers we also export coal supporting the British economy and additionally provide coal required for commercial users.
