As a company we have always sought to optimise the value of our nation's natural resources, and in maximising value from coal have helped the UK's generators produce electricity from indigenous sources rather than rely entirely on the importation of coal from overseas.
As the technology develops to harvest renewable energy sources in a cost-efficient and effective manner, we see a tremendous opportunity for diversification into this area of the country's natural resources, which up until recently has remained untapped.
The UK is full of renewable energy sources, with extensive coastlines, windy shores and excellent pastoral land for the development of bio-fuels. Just as we have with the natural resource of coal, Scottish Resources Group will remain at the forefront of collecting and utilising these alternative resources as the technology becomes available to do so. This will include areas where the Group's skill sets overlap e.g. mini and micro hydro power and geothermal energy.
