Our coal
SRG is the largest surface mining coal producer in the UK and the country's second largest coal mining company. Most of our coal is consumed by UK power stations for domestic electricity production.
Our mines
Currently, all of our mines are broadly located in the Central Belt of Scotland. We own an extensive estate, not all of which is mineral bearing. Our long-term property value consists of 25,000 acres with mixed operational and investment use.
Our reserves
We have in excess of 17.85m tonnes of audited coal reserves approved for working and substantial additional resources. We have an outstanding track record of identifying new coal reserves and successfully achieving land acquisition and appropriate consents for working.
Our commitment to renewable energy
The Group has the experience, resources, contacts and commitment to develop wind, bio-fuel supply, clean coal, biomass, geothermal, hydro and waste-to-energy projects.
