About SRG

The opportunity

SRG is committed to employing personnel from the communities local to the operations where they work. For example, of our 394 employees on sites in South Lanarkshire, 65% have South Lanarkshire postcodes. A further 13% live within 10 miles of the site and the remainder live within approx 30 miles of the site. This is entirely consistent with travel to work patterns across the Group.

Wage levels across our workforce are substantial. Machine operators and maintenance engineers average approx £700-£800 per week with the highest skills being paid in excess of £1000 per week. These wage levels make a substantial contribution to the rural communities where we are based.

The Group believes that it is important that all its employees feel that they are able to fully communicate their views and concerns with management. It therefore has a policy encouraging membership of one of three recognised Trade Unions - Unite, NUM and COSA. In addition, a small number of managerial staff are represented by BACM.

Membership is not obligatory and the Company offers the opportunity for individuals and groups who are not formally represented by a recognised Trade Union to meet with and discuss issues with management.
