SRG is committed to being a world class producer of coal and a regenerator of both former mining sites and other land in its control for sustainable long term commercial development and renewable energy projects. It will achieve this by employing the highest quality staff, operating to industry leading standards and working closely with all its stakeholders, particularly in local communities.
Health and Safety
We are committed to creating a culture dedicated to the prevention of accidents and work-related ill health. We seek to achieve this by providing a consistent standard of training and competence at all levels across all our workplaces and by robust management of health and safety policy and processes.
Employees
We aim to attract, retain and motivate the highest calibre of employees within a structure that encourages their development and personal initiative. We seek to consult on and discuss with employees all significant matters which affect their interests. We operate non-discriminatory policies in relation to recruitment, development, advancement and compensation.
Environment
We recognise that our principal business operations can make an impact, albeit normally of a temporary nature. We seek to mitigate this by adopting best practice and innovation. We regularly consult with local communities, before and during operations on how best to minimise any local disruption. We reinstate our operational sites to high standards and, wherever appropriate to do so, seek to establish long term beneficial afteruses including renewal energy projects.
Community
We consult communities affected by our activities at all stages, from planning to post operational development. We make a positive contribution in the communities where we operate by providing jobs and funding local trusts which invest in educational, environmental, sporting and other projects of local importance.
Customers
We aim to fulfil all our contractual requirements in a timely and efficient manner so that they can be assured of the raw materials necessary to reliably generate electricity to meet society's needs. We work with our customers to promote clean coal and carbon capture technologies.
Suppliers
We work with professionalism and integrity with all our suppliers. We adopt policies which avoid discrimination against SMEs and local suppliers and consider that there is considerable commercial advantage in creating opportunities for local businesses who, in turn, further support the company in the areas where we operate.
Society
We keep to the letter and spirit of all laws and regulatory frameworks which apply to our work. We strictly oppose any bribery, corruption or the concealment of any conflict of interest.
